Privacy Policy

How Reduce GIF Size handles GIF processing, website analytics, local settings, advertising and privacy inquiries.

1. GIF files and standard website logs

Image and media files are processed locally through browser File and Canvas APIs and are not sent to an external GIF processing server.

Standard access information such as IP address, user-agent, visit time and referring URL may be recorded for website operation, security, denial-of-service protection or statistical analysis. Local media processing should not be interpreted as a claim that the entire website makes no network requests.

Page analytics and network requests

Google Analytics is used for page use and tool events. The events upload_started, encode_completed, download_completed and target_failed describe feature usage. Their event payloads do not include filenames, GIF content or image pixels.

Analytics requests and font requests can occur separately from local GIF processing. The data practices of an external provider are also governed by that provider’s policies.

2. Advertising and third-party cookies

The website may show advertising through Google AdSense and other third-party partners. Google advertising cookies may be used to show ads based on visits to this and other websites.

You can manage personalized advertising through Google’s advertising settings or opt-out resources provided by participating advertising organizations. External websites and advertisements have their own policies.

3. Browser local storage

The site stores interface preferences locally on your device: app-dark-mode for light or dark mode and app-color-theme for the color palette. These settings are not sent to a GIF processing server.

Language now follows the page URL instead of a stored preference. The former app-lang value is removed when the interface loads. You can clear stored settings through the browser’s site-data controls.

4. Privacy rights and sale of information

The project’s policy respects applicable access, correction and deletion rights, including rights under relevant European and California privacy frameworks. Direct questions or requests to support so they can be reviewed in relation to the data and services involved.

The project states that it does not sell or rent users’ personal information to third parties. GIF content is not stored by the local processing workflow. Website logs and third-party analytics are described separately above.

5. Children’s privacy

The service is not primarily directed at children under 13 or the applicable age set by local law, and the project states that it does not knowingly collect children’s personally identifying information. A parent or guardian who believes a child’s information has been supplied can contact support to request review and deletion.

6. Security and policy changes

The public site uses SSL/TLS communication. The policy may be updated when laws, services or operating practices change. A revision date should reflect an actual change rather than the date of every build.
